Services

Our rug washing plant has been in Poulsbo since 2008. We are located at 473 NW Edvard Street just south of Les Schwab Tire.  Our workshop offers full immersion hand washing for all types of Oriental and area rugs, air dusting and rug repairs. We invite you to stop by and see first hand what makes us different than the rest.

We offer cleaning and care for all your Oriental and area rugs. From hand-washing to the most thorough vacuuming and dusting, we clean all types of loose decorative rugs. Some but not all of the rugs we have cleaned are:

  • Aubusson
  • Flat woven
  • Flokati
  • Hand-knotted
  • Hand-tufted
  • Kelim
  • Machine Woven
  • Machine tufted
  • Navajo
  • Soumak
  • Various Animal hides
  • Others

We sell the best Oriental rug pad available and cut all them from the roll for a perfect custom fit. We never tape pieces of pad together.

At R.H. Koller, we take great pride in the quality and variety of the repairs and restorations we offer our clients. Just a few of the restorative techniques we provide include securing ends, hand-wrapping of side cords, fringe repairs, and sleeving, all performed to maintain the value of your rugs and textiles. All of our repairs are done by hand with a needle and thread to ensure the best color and construction match for your textiles. Whether we are working on a 100-year-old Persian rug or a modern piece from Tibet, we will take the time to ensure that the repairs we provide preserve and protect the value of your rugs and textiles.

We offer expert cleaning and care for all your specialty and area rugs. From hand-washing of rugs to thorough vacuuming and dusting, we clean all types of loose, decorative rugs. Some, but not all, of the rugs we have cleaned are:

Storage Preparation

With proper rug storage, rugs can be stored almost indefinitely. The key is preparation to properly prepare a rug for long-term storage. It must be thoroughly washed and dried. After that process, rugs should be wrapped in a breathable protective wrapping. We recommend Tyvek because it is breathable, has some waterproofing properties, and it is also excellent protection against moth and rodent infections. Rugs should never be stored in plastic. Wool and all natural fibers need to breath and Tyvek has those properties, that’s why it is used on homebuilding sites.

Where your rug is stored is also very important. It should be stored in an environment that does not have high humidity or great variations in temperature. Rugs should also never be stored on a concrete floor.

Long-term and Short-term Storage

We also can provide storage at our facility for your rugs. Whether you’re just refinishing your wood floors or are doing an entire home remodel, we can keep your rugs safe, secure, and clean.
